Simulation of LPG Pressure Vessel under Fire Engulfment

چکیده

Liquefied Petroleum Gases [LPG] are flammable mixtures of gases such as propane and butane mainly which is transported stored in liquid phase storage vessels under amply pressure. These industrial processes high fire explosion hazard. When a vessel carrying LPG damaged, an abrupt drop pressure may release colossal quantities evaporating gas energy that has destructive effect on the itself its surroundings. comes contact with ignition source, BLEVE phenomenon developed. Elevated temperature environment outside can cause due to mount inside tank strength walls. This catastrophic rupture will lead when ignited again vapor cloud explosion. Most common scenario partially filled form exposed fire. The primary focus paper analyze thermal loading condition. For this Finite element modeling approach used analysis carried out ANSYS TM software.

Study on Temperature-Pressure Gas-Liquid Coupled Field of LPG Tank Under Fire Based on Wavelet Finite Element Method

In order to analyze the changing rules of temperature and pressure of the gas-liquid coupled field of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) tank under fire, the application of the wavelet finite element method on it is studied in depth. First, the research achievements of thermodynamics response of the LPG tank under fire and the wavelet finite element theory is summarized. Second the temperature-press...

Semi Analytical Analysis of FGM Thick-Walled Cylindrical Pressure Vessel with Longitudinal Variation of Elastic Modulus under Internal Pressure

In this paper, a numerical analysis of stresses and displacements in FGM thick-walled cylindrical pressure vessel under internal pressure has been presented. The elastic modulus is assumed to be varying along the longitude of the pressure vessel with an exponential function continuously. The Poisson’s ratio is assumed to be constant. Whereas most of the previous studies about FGM thick-walled p...

Comparison of the Effects of Different Fire Test Regimes on Passive Fire Protection Materials

In the past, HSE’s Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) has studied the performance of a variety of passive fire protection (PFP) materials in protecting a part-filled LPG tank subjected to hydrocarbon pool fire engulfment. However, this is only one potential fire incident scenario that can threaten a process vessel; another is a jet fire, perhaps resulting from an ignited release from a leaking ...

Simulation Modeling of Fire Station Locations under Traffic Obstacles

Facility location problem involves locating a facility to optimize some performance measures. Location of a public facility to serve the community, such as a fire station, significantly affects its service quality. Main objective in locating a fire station is to minimize the response time, which is the time duration between receiving a call and reaching the place of incident. In metropolitan ar...

Effect of Material Gradient on Stresses of FGM Rotating Thick-Walled Cylindrical Pressure Vessel with Longitudinal Variation of Properties under Non-uniform Internal and External Pressure

The present paper provides a semi-analytical solution to obtain the displacements and stresses in a functionally graded material (FGM) rotating thick cylindrical shell with clamped ends under non-uniform pressure. Material properties of cylinder are assumed to change along the axial direction according to a power law form. It is also assumed that the Poisson’s ratio is constant. Given the exist...
